We want ALL of our ingredients to come from regeneratively grown crops.
Today this is not the case. As a young brand it is challenging to find regeneratively grown ingredients. However, with your support, we can leverage our supply chain to contract with growers to implement regenerative practices and provide the incentive (orders from Amari) and security (long term partnerships) to change. Amari’s goal is to be comprised of 100% regeneratively sourced ingredients within 5 years and we will report on our progress annually so you can see the results of our efforts.
Why do we feel this is important?
Regenerative Agriculture is simply allowing the soil to do as nature has designed. These practices have shown to increase crop yields and improve plant nutrient density while decreasing fertilizer and pesticide usage resulting in improved economics for the farmers who feed us all. It improves soil health by encouraging the health of the soil microbiome and increasing the plant’s natural ability to cycle carbon (remove carbon from atmosphere and use it to make new plants) while eliminating topsoil loss and building soil organic matter.
When plants have a healthy soil microbiome they thrive and do what they do best - grow! By design, these crops are nutrient rich, healthy, disease and pest resistant. Regenerative Agriculture Benefits
Regenerative agriculture builds soil health by encouraging the health of the soil microbiome and increasing the plant’s natural ability to cycle carbon while eliminating topsoil loss and building soil organic matter.
For every 1% improvement in soil organic matter soil, the soil’s ability to hold water increases by 17,000 – 25,000 gallons per acre capturing rainfall, recharging aquifers, and creating drought resistance while reducing the need for irrigation and pesticide and fertilizer run off.
