Have a glass of chill with this lightly spiked, soothing twist on Amari Mountain Sports Recovery mix. We used unrefined cane sugar for a traditional simple syrup, but honey, agave or coconut sugar are equally delicious options. Adjust the vodka as you'd like for your chill-out requirements, and serve icy cold as a mellow cocktail alternatives.
1/2 cup unrefined cane sugar
1 small lemon
2 cups fresh blackberries or frozen blackberries, thawed to room temperature
4 packets Amari Mountain Sports drink mix
1/2 pint vodka
Additional blackberries for garnish (optional)
- Combine sugar with 1 cup of filtered water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is completely dissolved, then remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
- Using a zesting tool or sharp paring knife, peel four lemon twists from the outside of lemon. Juice lemon and set aside.
- Combine cooled simple syrup, blackberries and Amari Mountain Sports drink mix in a blender and puree until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, using the back of a spoon to press as much liquid as possible out of solids. Add vodka and ice, and stir to chill.
- To serve, strain mixture into four martini glasses or small cocktail glass. Garnish each with a lemon twist and a few blackberries, if desired, and serve immediately.
